Battery Buddy Board. 
  • Simplifies wiring and installation of batteries, charging port and on/off switch.
  • Use easily available with Lipos w/JST-PH connectors (Sparkfun, Adafruit, Ebay).
  • Allows spreading batteries around locomotive.  
  • Add a balancing charging port or a non-balancing charge port.
  • Use a simple plug to turn locomotive on/off or wire in a magnetically activated on/off board. 
  • Fuse protected to prevent burning battery wires on accidental short.

Battery Charger and Charging Cord for Battery Buddy
A simple balancing charger and a purpose built cord for use with the battery buddy.  The charger charges each cell individually for best results.  Comes with a presoldred extension cord to connect to the Battery Buddy.

Usage:
Make sure locomotive is off.  Unplug charger from wall outlet.  Hook up charger to locomotive charging port with red to positive side.  Plug in charger to wall outlet.  You should get 3 red lights indicating charging.  If you get no lights then unplug, reverse charging cord and try again.  3 green lights indicate battery is full.

If you already have a balancing charger and just need the chsrge cord for the Battery Buddy (it comes with the charger above).  One end fits th battery charge port and the other plugs in to the standard 3S charging port of most LiPo chargers.

Large Scale Wiring Components
Large Scale Charging Circuit
Usually used with 4 cell 14.*V batteries in G scale locomotives.  This circuit was delevoloped by Steve Seidensticker who has professionally installed batteries in dozens of large scale locomotives.

Use as a charging port.  Has a built in switch that detects when plug is inserted.

5.5x2.5mm Barrel Plug For Adapting Your Charger
Use with the Wiring Kit above to adapt your own charger to the jack.  The outer sleeve is threaded and can be removed to reveal soldering tabs inside.  Wire so that the inside is positive and the outer ring is negative.

SPST Mini Toggle Switch
Small mini-sized toggle switch but still able to carry the current of large scale locomotives. Takes a 1/4" mounting hole.

Magnetic Latching Relay Switch
This switch turns on when a magnt is brought next to it and then stays on when magnet is removed.  Turn the magnet around and the switch turns off when the magnet is brought briefly nearby.  Mark the magnet ends and the switch location to help remember. If a magnet is left nearby it will stay on so it must be mounted away from motor and speaker magnets.
